First off, can't overstate the quality of customer service at Roadrunner. Originally placed an order for the Large Anything, and didn't note any production delays. Some time went by without update, called, spoke with Ashley and she was incredibly helpful. Website wasn't showing the necessary data and because of a trip I had coming up, hooked me up with the equivalent sized roll top instead, expedited shipping and everything. Her and the small company went way above and beyond to do a big solid for me, and I'm nobody special.

That out of the way, the pack is incredible. It's old school in a way like a Medium ALICE, which is pretty much why I wanted this for some of the travel I do. The dimensions are perfect to seriously pack out if you need to and through some voodoo magic, still retains the shape of the pack without getting all duffel bag on you. A couple actually useful pockets and compression straps on the side and it's a serious contender if you don't need something with a frame. I might be using it beyond it's design goals though.

Currently loaded with hiking boots, three days of clothes, rain layer, light base , softshell, a weeks worth of toiletries/camp towel, a woobie (if you know, you know), flashlight, batteries, 32oz Nalgene, solar charger and a couple travel "luxuries" I don't actually need. All that and it still carry on compliant.

I've bought some other road runner products for my bikes. They don't skimp on anything. Well built, thoughtfull, simple, durable. Highly recommend this, or any of their packs depending on needs.

I’ve been looking off and on for a backpack that would fit a 14x20 block of watercolor paper and this is the one.
I’m an artist who paints watercolors plein air (on site) and I’ve been looking around for quite a while for something smaller than the 19x25 portfolio/backpack that I’ve hauled around the last 20 years.
The Large Roll Top Backpack is fantastic. Big enough for everything I need to put in there. Tripod, watercolor paper, easel board, shade umbrella. Even though the dimensions are listed as 14” wide, there’s a LOT of depth to this thing that will add to the width as long as you don’t jam pack it. The 14x20 block of paper fits in easily. I’ll also mention I will never buy a bag again with a dark interior. The bright orange inside is perfect. The two large pockets on the outside work well for all the other things I need to carry along, whether it’s tape, multi tool, stakes for the tripod, etc. The material it’s made out of is robust as all get out and I can’t find a flaw in any of the stitching. I think this bag will last the rest of my life easily. I put my hi-vis reflective vest around the pack when I ride my bike. It zips around it as if it’s a torso. Perfect.
I’d also like to add that before ordering I was concerned if the paper was going to fit in the backpack. Ashley corresponded with me and even sent a couple pics with a tape measure to assure me that it would and we discussed a possible return if it didn’t. GREAT customer service!

I use both the cali burrito bag and the large roll top had the two for a few years and they still look brand new even with heavy use. The latter has become my go to gig bag for music keeping my gear safe and dry. If you wanted to give the music bag market a go you might sink the competition. Mind you i bought this bag in 2019 direct from the shop in DTLA. Groceries , deliveries, gigs this is my go to bag might be cool yo sell a “food wedge”to keep things. OK, a lot of other reviews here have addressed the high degree of quality, thoughtful design and overall utility of this bag. All true. But in my 2+ years of use, my favorite thing about the Large Roll Top is that it makes me feel like a spaceman. Absolutely ready to rock, every day. Ready to carry that extra 12-pack of TP atop the usual grocery load without a problem. Easy packing for an impromptu overnight bicycle adventure. Every time I swing it on I still get a little giddy. You're gonna love it.

Let me begin by saying that I used to avoid using a backpacks at all costs. I have never been a fan of carrying things on my back because I've always found it uncomfortable and sweaty. I used to carry things in my bike basket or use bike bags until my coworker introduced me to this backpack. Once I saw him rockin' this pack I knew I had to get one for myself! The construction is high quality and very durable. The inner bag is huge and I can stuff tons of things in there. Zipper pockets can also carry a ton of things and the outside pockets are large enough for two 32oz Nalgene bottles. One thing that i really appreciate in this bag is its comfort. Even when under load its still so comfy! It doesn't cut into my shoulders and despite the sweat, I still find myself really enjoying this backpack, Now, I tend to try to use it anytime I can. It's a good looking backpack as well and I've gotten many compliments, thanks RRB! One thing I did notice was that my backpack was smaller than my coworkers even though we both bought size L Roll-top packs. We compared them side by side and his is definitely bigger than mine. I wasn't very stoked about this as I expected it to be the same size, but it is handmade so I'm sure there are variations in size. Still love the bag, still highly recommend it and now I am a backpack lover! I've gone as far as to decorate it with patches and I've also purchased the hip straps as well. Great job RRB!
