Fred Bikepacking Saddle Bag

Complete with a waterproof liner, adjusting and locking seat rail straps, durable 1000D Cordura Brand material as well as a number of other rad features; those of which you can find listed below.
We've been testing this version of our Fred Bikepacking Saddle Bag for the last 2 years and I've got to say: we're quite pleased with the function and fit of this pack. Perfect for stuffing your sleeping bag when on bike camping adventure or use it as a full day bag and store your additional layers and gear with ease. We've gone ahead and reinforced the base to create a stiff and waterproof seat pack that will continue to last for years to come.
Shown above is at its max waterproof capacity; our Fred Bag comes in at 8.5L and weighs around 12oz. Remember that this bag is complete with a hard internal core, as well as a floating, waterproof liner. Not only that but the Fred Bag comes stock with a lower skid shield made of black vinyl for protecting the underside of your bag from the elements and your rear tire.
When the bag is totally open you can see the sheer size of this saddle bag and because of its roll top feature, this bag can be compressed down to a 2L pack; making it an ideal choice for adventure riders, bike packers and daily commuters.
The bag is compressed closed by means of a 3/4" compression strap with a YKK side release buckle. This strap works quite well to attach thin items to the top of the bag, for instance a pair of sandals or a packable layer.
Not only that but we've reinforced the base by added a vinyl "Skid Plate" to protect the bag from muck, mud and the rear tire.

This bag is a quick and easy install on any saddle and seat post. Lightly attach the velcro seat post strap then loop the buckles through your saddle rails. Now go back and adjust the seat post strap so it is nice and snug. Now you can go back and tighten the saddle rail straps. Closing the bag is just as easy: fold the sides and begin rolling the bag toward the saddle. Once you've compressed the bag, use the side release buckle to close the roll top. Lastly, pull the main compression strap up and buckle it closed, all while compressing and tightening the strap. You want the bag as compressed as possible to eliminate sway and sag. For best results, compress and pack your items inside the bag before compressing the roll top.
