great

i got the mixed color bag and it's so cute. the size of it is perfect for hiking, and travel depending on your needs. the chest strap is really helpful also. the only thing is the string to close up the bag is challenging to get used to at first.

lovely and recommended

my friend recommended this bag (they have the older version) and now I do too! use it everyday for errands, groceries, hiking and of course bike commutes. the pocket on the inside top flap is hard to get to sometimes when I need to reach for something quick, but otherwise it's a greatly constructed bag and I love it still. plan to use it till it falls apart!

Great for daily commutes!

I love this bag! I bought it to replace a herschel bag that I've had for 6+ years, and boy oh boy does this feel like an upgrade. Sturdy and perfect for carrying daily teaching needs: laptop, notebook, a few books, lunchbox, thermos. The secret lid pocket is great for sensitive papers and notes. I can attach my blinker light to the mollee chain at the base of the bag (though it'd be nice if it were just a tad higher—the way the chain sits, my light tends to point downward rather than straight). The pull cord mechanism is so much smoother than regular drawstring mechanisms. This might be a niche thing to say but I love how this pack sits on my back—a lot of commuter bags can look clunky or overbearing, but this has just enough of a low profile, with the added cinch straps on the sides, to carry enough without making me look like a giant tortoise...

The only real nitpick I have is that I'd appreciate if the chest strap was removable, especially since I don't feel that I need it for the loads I usually carry. It is nice to have, though, for making the pack feel a bit more stable when cycling. All in all, worth the pricetag, and I can't wait to use it in the years to come!

Definitely no slouch!

I cannot say enough good things about this company as a whole, so I'll keep this review about the bag! The slacker is an excellent bag that is well made and fits my daybag necessities perfectly! It is the perfect size for toting around and has handled every load I have thrown at it without issue! I even had a custom purple one made to match the rest of my accessories on my bike! This company is wonderfully pleasant to work with and I think anyone who bikes or needs a bag in general should look no further, their is no better!

Great EDC pack

I ordered a custom slacker day pack after I saw that the design had been upgraded to include side bottle pockets, compression straps, laptop sleeve. Previously I was using zipper-access packs from Goruck and Tom Bihn and wanted more flexibility. Customer service was great in giving me the option of black waxed canvas (dry finish), which feels wonderfully and soft. The pack is the perfect size for me as a grad student and hospital chaplain. Enough for some notebooks, laptop, water bottles, essentials, layer, and can expand 3 extra liters if needed. I can stuff it to the brim and not feel like it's too heavy to carry around all day.

The only 2 design flaws I would say is regarding the front quick access pocket. While it has some independent capacity due to side pleats, the zipper to access it lays flat, so it can be hard to get in there if the bag is full. The other thing is that, if the bag is upright, the webbing with the bottom buckle will fall into the quick access pocket when its unzipped, and you have to fish it out with one hand before trying to zip it up with the other hand. Otherwise, I am really enjoying using this unique bag and happy to support small pack makers!
