My Ibis Cousin It - Tandem Mountain Bike
A craigslist find gone right!
A few months back, my buddy Nico sent me over a random CL link to this dusty tandem in South LA. After sleeping on the link, the listing expired soon after, and the tandem was gone seemingly forever. I kept my eyes peeled on CL awaiting the day the tandem owner would repost this gem. Well, much to my surprise, the tandem owner posted his bike to craigslist again, and I was there immediately to swoop in on it. And that's exactly what I did!
My bag kit for the Cousin It includes:
Jumbo Jammer, Navy - Captain
Full MTB Wedge, Olive - Captain
Jammer Bag, Olive - Stoker
1/2 Wedge, Olive - Stoker
XL Fred Bag, Black - Stoker
Summer is looming in the background, and we can already feel the heat coming. A minimal pack set is ideal when the lows are only 50* F.
We're currently prototyping a larger saddle bag, one that will hold its shape, securely hold your contents without swaying and one that is fully waterproof with a seam sealed liner. So far I must say, I'm impressed by our work!
The frame clears 2.5" Surly ET's, and wow what a ride! The captain sits on an 18" frame, and the stoker sits on a 16" frame which makes this bike perfect for someone riding a medium/small on the front and a small/extra small on the rear. With a strong stoker, this thing really moves! Luckily, my 14 y/o brother has legs for days!
I must say, with the addition of my Cousin It, the Adams Family is finally all together kooky.
